Thrift Stores Rock for Halloween

So I’m gonna be Sweeney Todd. But rather than be unoriginal, like buy a pre-made outfit, I wanted to piece together my own.
First of all, you can usually get cheaper, especially if you already have on hand some things. Second, you can usually get closer to the real deal, and maybe find things that fit properly. But, sometimes one can have a difficult time in finding items. In the case of putting together pieces for Sweeney Todd, however, it’s like I was supposed to be him this year. w00t!
Here’s what the costume needs:
1. – 1 pair of striped pants; boot cut
2. – 1 pair of boots, mid high, plain, black, hopefully square toe
3. – 1 non-collared, front pleated, blousey, multi-button white shirt
4. – 1 rope scarf, black/white patterned
5. – 1 (double breasted) vest, aged, short
6. – 1 belt. thick. black/brown. (technically very brown, but black will do)
7. – 1 open tip grey knitted glove
8. – 1 wig
9. – (extra) – razor and razor holster
Here’s what I have:
1. – pants – grey/green/blue, dark striped – “FREE”
2. – tuxedo shirt; no collar, FLAT pleated front (PERFECT!), all shirts are big on me, therefore, blousey. $2.50
3. – woman’s denim sleeveless top, button up; will move buttons to make “double breasted”. Will age with RIT dye/vegetable dye; blood will be splattered across it $1.50 (1/2 price Mondays!)
4. – 1 open tip grey knitted glove (tips were cut off by me) $3.00
5. – 1 belt. I have a brown and a black one. Will decide when I’m putting all together. Both old style. $2.00 each
6. – 1 pair of BOOTS! w00t! Thank you Zappos. 40% OFF. Rock. $100.00 … I’m ok with that. I’m using them on regular basis. Wanted some new shoes.
7. – 1 scarf. Was a wide scarf, with black/white pattern in middle. Chopped off the sides. Voila. Rope scarf. $12.00 H&M, thankyouverymuch.
8. – Wig I’m getting tonight. $40? <-- the only real non-reusable substantial cost
9. - Dunno about razor.
Total non-refundable, non-reusable (everyday kind of use) cost: $59.00. (Wig main cost)THAT's how you dress for Halloween, have a real costume, and have fun too!
I found my stuff at Unique Thrift Store, Salvation Army Uptown, H&M, and Zappos. I think the pants were from Old Navy.
